Who we are

Chikuni — Private Japan Journeys is a private journey-design service operated by The Bears Japan K.K. in Hakuba, Nagano, Japan.

Information we collect

When you contact Chikuni or complete a Journey Discovery form, we may collect information you provide about yourself and your travelling party, including names, contact details, travel dates, preferences, budget guidance, dietary or mobility information, and other details you choose to share.

How we use it

We use this information to respond to enquiries, prepare and refine journey recommendations, provide our services, communicate with you, administer payments and business records, and improve the Chikuni experience.

Sharing and service providers

Our website questionnaire uses Formspree to receive your answers and send them to our enquiry email inbox. We may also use trusted technology and professional service providers where reasonably necessary to operate Chikuni. We do not sell your personal information. Where a journey requires information to be shared with a third party, we will do so only as reasonably necessary or with your direction.

Retention and security

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably required for the purposes for which it was collected, our legitimate business records, and applicable legal obligations. We take reasonable measures to protect the information entrusted to us.

Your choices

You may contact us to ask about the personal information we hold about you or to request an appropriate correction or deletion, subject to applicable legal and record-keeping requirements.
